At the start of this year, the heirs of the late Georges Muller regretfully decided to close the Auberge de l'Onde, which their epicurean husband and father had acquired in 2003 and reopened in 2005 after two years of major renovation.

The late Georges Muller, with the help of renowned chefs and a team of loyal collaborators, brought the Auberge to life for almost 20 years.

When he passed away in 2021, his heirs, who were also very attached to the Auberge, continued to run it. A child of the village of Saint-Saphorin was appointed as manager to breathe new life into the Auberge, which she has done with passion and determination.

However, the heirs, whose professions have nothing to do with the restaurant business, have realized that it is not possible for them to keep the Auberge de l'Onde going.

They therefore decided to cease operations at the start of this year, and to seek to bring the Auberge de l'Onde back into operation so that this emblematic Lavaux landmark, so dear to their hearts, can continue to live on.

The staff are warmly thanked for their loyalty and efforts, particularly over the past three years. Every effort will be made to help them find new jobs as quickly as possible.

The estate of the late Georges Muller, keen to keep the Auberge de l'Onde alive, will also be doing everything necessary to enable a buyer to reopen as soon as possible.

This is just one page turning for this beautiful and mythical establishment dating back to 1750, and a new blank page that we hope will soon be written.

The family and staff of the Auberge de l'Onde would like to thank their loyal clientele, who have brought this place to life and, we hope, will continue to do so, where so many artists (Charlie Chaplin, Villard Gilles, Lélo Fiaux, Charles Albert Cingria, Paul Budry, ...) and so many other famous and unknown people have spent timeless moments savouring Lavaux wines.
