Joséphine chante Brel
Joséphine gives Jacques Brel's songs her husky, dark voice, with a warm timbre. This voice seems created to convey and express passionate strength and joy, but also anger, sadness and resignation.
From the very first bars of "Amsterdam", she proves that in terms of stage presence and vocal power, she comes surprisingly close to her model.
She effortlessly handles Vesoul's frenzied crescendo, and she's not afraid to sing arguably her best-known love song, "Ne me quitte pas", in such a moving way that her version touches the very marrow of her bones.
And it's just as obvious that she's teamed up with an equal partner: Serge Broillet is an accordion virtuoso who masters both the breathtaking javas and musettes and the emotional vibrations. A moment of great emotion with unique, poetic love songs...
